It has cutlery, glassware, serving dishes and other useful products for practical as well as decorating for food included. Tableware is provided to set a table for eating a meal or for giving food. The variety of tableware varies from different religion, culture and cuisine. It can be categorized into four types – serveware, dinnerware, silverware and drinkware or glassware. . Here are the four types of tablewares and how its used!

1. Serveware

To begin with, Serveware is used for serving. This category includes serving bowls, platters, salad bowls, dessert bowls, casseroles, soup pots, tea pots and any other dishes that are used to serve food into the table. Utensils such as serving spoons, ladles, pair of tongs and containers used for serving drinks such as pitches are also classified under this category.

2. Dinnerware

Secondly, dinnerware which known as chinaware or crockery, consists of anything that is used to serve specific types of food during a meal. Dinnerware comprises an array of dishes that varies from the basic plate and bowl to more specialized dinnerware with unique shapes, colours and sizes for different reasons. Different courses of meal served will provoke the choice and arrangement of dinnerware. It’s made with materials such as melamine, stoneware or earthenware porcelain, glass etc.

3. Silverware

Thirdly, Silverware is also known as flatware, consists of cutlery such as spoons, forks and knives. They are of variety in size and shape depending on the occasion. Silverware has different price points where you can choose from depending on your budget and preference. 

4. Drinkware

Finally, It is any item where we can pour and serve drink. This category of tableware consists of mugs, cups and glasses. Drinkware item comprises of different shapes and sizes, the specific glass is usually selected depending on the beverage or theme of the event or dinner.
